A couple of weeks ago I was shortlisted, and won the Belfast Telegraph Woman of the Year Award in fashion at a beautiful event at the Culloden. Such a thought provoking evening hearing the stories of inspirational woman in education, healthcare, the voluntary sector and woman who have overcome personal tragedies to go on to help and inspire others. Seriously humbling. Delighted to have received this award for doing a job that doesn’t even feel like a job 90% of the time 😃
In saying that work does keep me busy, so busy in fact that I didn’t have time to make my dress until the morning of the awards, before rushing out to hang my exhibition that was launching the following night. I even had to get changed in the back of the van amongst a pile of surfboards once we got to the Culloden! Luckily the pretty Children of Lir print distracted from the disaster that was my hair 😉
