Our art and design exhibition celebrating all things coastal launched in the iconic Arcadia, Portrush on Friday evening, attracting a fabulously stylish crowd. ‘Drawn to the Sea’ combines my illustration and design work with work from photographer Robert Malone, illustrator Geoff Fulton and BTS Concept Store.
The evening started as all good evenings should, with sunshine, chips, bubbles and good pals on the north coast of Ireland.
The north coast has a special place in the hearts of everyone in NI, to me it’s my home and inspiration, and I wanted explore all aspects of it in this exhibition.
This is the first time I have exhibited on home ground and I was delighted to do so in such a stunning, light and airy venue, with such a great crowd. Seriously, check these people out! It was only when I looked back over the photos I realised that I couldn’t have styled a crowd to look more perfect for a sunny beachside exhibition! And everyone is having so much fun. Love it!
I was delighted to work with such a fab team to help make this a gorgeous evening happen, not only my fellow artists but the brilliantly calm and organised Tanya and Tomasz at the Arcadia, and generous local business peeps including Marino at Nisa who supplied the gin for our dangerous cucumber coolers, Tim McCoubry who provided the perfect ambiance with his funkjazztical beats and Liam at Brewnote for putting on a class Crystalhead Vodka reception for our guests at the soiree afterwards. Seriously good guys and awesome coastal community spirit!
If you missed the launch, then my heart breaks for you, but the exhibition will be available to view until mid-July (Check gallery times prior to visiting) We can’t promise a cucumber cooler cocktail but do try the Arcadia’s Pash-n-shoot smoothies, they are damn good!!
